We feel fortunate in finding 'Deano's Landscaping' back in '99 shortly after buying our 5 acre property and starting our alpaca farm. Deano has provided friendly and professional help with a wide variety of landscaping needs for the past 10 years. From minor cosmetic landscaping to major rock walls and brush clearing, he has always had the know-how and the equipment to get the job done on time and on budget. We especially like the way he involves us in any decision making and is always willing to make changes on short notice. When he said he would be here, we could count on him being 10 minutes early!

We purchased our home in 2005, basically a work in progress. We took a chance on Deano based on a recommendation from a friend and what started out as a small job turned out to be a massive landscaping project. Together with our original vision and a lot of expertise and guidance from Dean and Ken, from Ken's Horticulture, we have developed a landscape that is not only beautiful and low maintenance but it is solid and lasting. I have seen first hand the results and extreme costs of similar jobs done based only on low estimates. Deano's crew were always courteous and respectful, always leaving our property in a useful state even during times when work was very difficult. Feel free to come to our B&B and see for yourselves.

What started out as a coy pond turned out to be what could have been a nightmare had it not been for Deano's landscaping. When he started to dig found what we thought to be an abandoned septic field, it was bone dry as if it had just been put in. Dean was not satisfied that it was so brought in professionals to check out the system. It was determined that it was indeed supposed to be the septic field. I decided to go ahead a put in a new up to date system. Dean and Darby worked hard and fast and within 4 days were ready to hook up, then another surprise, that line was also dry. The next day Deano brought in a small bobcat, and started digging by the septic tank, Darby (bless his soul) started digging by hand under the deck, exposed the line from the tank, to find out the only septic field this house has had probably for the past 20 years, was a 20 ft length of perforated pipe coming out of the tank. When I hire a contractor I expect them to be ethical and hard working, Deanos work was supereminent. Thank you Deano, for your persistence and determination to get the job done RIGHT you went above and beyond what I would have expected from my landscaper. Today the saga continues, my coy pond, hopefully no more surprises.

Deano’s Landscaping & Excavating has performed work for me over a period of 3 years , with the continuous reconstruction of a number of my rock walls that were initially built incorrectly by another contractor.

Deano’s was originally referred to me because one of the walls was beginning to fall down. When he came to look at my situation, he informed me that it would only be a matter of time before some of the other rock walls would also fail due to insufficient drainage behind them, as they had been backfilled incorrectly with clay and rock. We both agreed that this was going to be a challenge to reconstruct as all of the landscaping was complete and the access and workability of the site was greatly restricted. However, Dean accepted the challenge and was confident that his team could rebuild the walls.

During construction, Deano’s took great care in protecting the property from further damage, getting equipment and materials into places where it was extremely difficult. Through all of this, he kept me up to date with emails, pictures, and phone calls, which was very much appreciated.

If I would have had Deano’s Landscaping & Excavating build these rock walls originally, I am confident that we would not have been in this situation of reconstruction and would have saved ourselves time and money.

We feel very lucky that Deano’s was referred to us and are extremely happy with the way our Landscaping turned out!

On Sunday,January 25, 2011 I was called out to the Lakewood Mall and Tim Horton's as they had a major water break underground. We had to notify Tim Horton's and all the businesses in the mall that they would have no water. After talking to the mall owner I called Dean from Deano's Landscaping & Excavating as well as BC One Call. Within a 1/2 hour Dean was onsite to caution tape off the area, as well as we put together a game plan for 7:00am Monday morning. By 9:00am the Gas line and problem with the 2" water line had all been found, materials picked up and Tim Hortons disgruntled customers had water and coffee by 10:00. Dean as always was prompt, professional and very thorough in his entire approach to this plumbing emergency. The mall manager and Tim Hotons were very impressed in how fast we got the water back on. I would highly recommend Deano's for all my excavating and landscaping needs. Thank-you.

We recently had Deano's Landscaping rebuild our driveway. The work involved removing a terraced garden to make more room, reshaping the drainage away from the front of the house and extending our cedar hedge. We could not be happier.

From the start Dean understood what we wanted to achieve and was clear about the possibilities, the options, the benefits of each option, which made it easy to make decisions on the plan.

We were not at home while construction was being done; however Dean kept us fully informed on the progress, including sending us pictures. He also dealt with other contractors on our behalf, such as terrasen, the district of Lake Country, and our irrigation company.

We are very pleased with the work that was done. It is truly a makeover of the front of our home. The only surprise we received was the attention to the small details that really made the completed project that much better.

We strongly recommend Deano's Landscaping, and plan to have more work done with Dean in the future.

So my story continues, after talking to Deano about my vision, my dream of how I wanted my koi pond to look like, I had to sit back and let him work his magic. My koi pond and pathways turned out to be more than I could have imagined, beautiful, peaceful, a place mom & I can sit and just relax. He took care of every detail, and made my dreams of what I wanted my retirement to be come true. Thank you Deano, your determination to do the job right, seeing that every detail was taken care of has ensured that I will enjoy my yard for years to come. Are we finished yet, of course not, next year we continue....

I just wanted to leave a review of the work that Dean and Crew did at our house last month. We needed some rock walls built to deal with a side sloping backyard. Dean came out and gave us some fabulous ideas which we went with. They were able to start our job within 2 weeks and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. They started on time, kept us informed of where they were in the project and where we were in the budget throughout the build and finished on time and UNDER BUDGET!!!! And the walls are stunning!
