Good afternoon everybody. It’s Dean here from Deano’s Landscaping. Today, I’d like to talk to you about some different mulch products that can actually help subside the weeds and bring actually the nutrients back to the soil, and it’s actually a byproduct of a product that a lot of you may already have heard of in the Kelowna area. It’s called OgoGrow. That is actually made up from a compost material that goes through a bunch of testing and it’s proven safe for the consumer at the end result.

So this here, what I have to my right today, is actually called Premium Mulch and you can look in at it and it’s got anything from about a half an inch woodchip and smaller. And as you see, as I shake it off my hands, there’s a lot of real fine stuff in here. That’s all the microorganisms that will break down from that product. From there what we’ll do is we’ll deliver that to the consumer. The benefit of that is I’m gonna show you right here now, as you follow me over to this flowerbed that I’ve just now delivered to a customer. You can see he’s got some beds already shaped up here. They’ve got some tulips and a bunch of other series they’ve done a little maple in there. But you can see that this here is the soil. The problem with soil is if it gets wet, you add sunlight, we all know what happens. Weeds love just a little bit of moisture and sunlight. We can see them starting to develop here. And then the homeowner’s constantly weeding.

So what we’ll do here is we delivered it. They’ll actually put this down at about three to four inches thick. What that does is actually gives a blanket over the dirt and it allows the moisture to penetrate through but no sunlight. No fabric needed. As our product breaks down, it will actually encourage plant growth because all the nutrients are gonna wash through. That’s the way to subdue the weeds and to give your plants the nutrients that they need. So that’s one product. We also have another one that’s a little thicker and it’s called a Regular Mulch. For more information, visit Deano’s Landscaping & Excavating and we’d love to help you out and educate you a little bit more. Have great day.
